Celebrating women's suffrage in Paulding County
Paulding County Commissioner Mark Holtsberry (right), was instrumental in issuing a proclamation celebrating women’s suffrage in Paulding County. Women in our country, state, and county fought hard for the right to vote just a mere 100 years ago. It’s important to remember the history of our county and the rights we have fought hard for. Also pictured is county commissioner Tony Zartman.

I recently had the pleasure of riding around with Shannon Ruschel, WMEA program director for Paulding County.

Ruschel has been doing this job for about seven months. She replaced Becky Suvar, who retired after serving the county for 27 years.

During the week, Ruschel loads up in her big red van to pick up recycling around Paulding County.

The meeting was postponed one day due to the Presidents Day holiday on Monday.
  • It’s Wednesday morning and the humidity has gone, leaving us with a much cooler morning. We had a light shower this morning, which we needed. Our hay was out last night, and hopefully the rain didn’t affect it too much.
