    A full-time EMS employee, a fuel surcharge on trash collection, and limiting access to the village’s brush pile were among the agenda items before Paulding Village Council on Tuesday, June 21.

    COLUMBUS – Paulding County saw a quartet of local athletes bring home a state title on Saturday as Wayne Trace juniors Sydnee Sinn, Kiara Bahena and Gracie Shepherd as well as senior Rachel Stoller all came home as State Champions from the Division III state track meet.

    Hometown Heroes Banners honor local veterans

    Late last summer, Jon Snodgrass was hanging out at the Paulding VFW Post #587 with Karen and Matt Sunday, when the seed of an idea to honor local veterans was planted. That initial seed of an idea would bear fruit this past week around Paulding with the hanging of Paulding Hometown Heroes banners throughout the village this past Friday.

    ANTWERP - Antwerp was two outs away from the end of the season.

    But Reid Lichty kept the Archers postseason dreams alive with a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving Antwerp a 2-1 victory over Hicksville in Division IV sectional championship action on Thursday.

  • ANTWERP On today’s date about 4:45 pm, officers with the Antwerp Police Department and deputies from this office were called to the boat access at the Riverside Veterans Memorial Park on East River Street in the Village of Antwerp for a report of a body lying in the water.  First responders pulled a deceased adult male from the water.

    Snow and frigid temps notwithstanding, spring is here. I know, because the calendar tells me. I know, because the sun now sets farther north than it did in winter. I know, because the ladybugs are coming out of hiding. But mostly I know, because Mama Robin is back.

    The Paulding FFA Chapter recently took 34 students to the Ohio FFA State Convention held May 4th-6th at the Ohio State Fairgrounds.
