What began in 1992 with a trailer load of excess Balsam fir wreaths, decorated by volunteers and laid at the graves of fallen soldiers at Arlington National Cemetery, (See: The Arlington Story – How the Arlington Wreath Project was born on the internet) has now become a national organization with over 1,200 participating locations all focused on one mission – to Remember – Honor – and Teach.

In less than two months, almost 400 people will gather together for an evening of unbelievable fun.

This event is only for select individuals in the area and spots are filled very quickly.

Guests walk in on a red carpet and are treated like royalty the entire evening.

PAULDING – What was once just a parade has snowballed into an afternoon extravaganza.
“When we started Merry and Bright, we envisioned it becoming more than a parade, and each year it continues to get bigger and brighter. This is the second year for activities being added to the afternoon before the parade,” says Brenda Crawford, Merry and Bright committee chair.

  • This year’s version of Paulding girls basketball is for real. The Lady Panthers were impressive in every area Thursday night in a 63-47 win over a feisty Lincolnview team. It was the NWC opener for both. Paulding is 4-0 overall. Lincolnview is 0-3.
  •   PAULDING – A water rate hike, the end of leaf pick-up, project updates and the upcoming Christmas parade were among Paulding Village Council’s agenda items on Monday, Dec. 2.
  • Two weeks ago I wrote about the sights of Christmas and continuing on, there are also many smells associated with Christmas.

I am sure one of the best smells of Christmas is that of fresh baked cookies. It is estimated that Americans will make and eat over 300 million cookies over the Christmas holidays.
