PAYNE– Wayne E. Feasby, age 84, passed away on Wednesday, January 11, 2023, at Vancrest of Payne.
Wayne
was born on October 30, 1938, in Van Wert County, OH to the late Willis
K. and Myrtle (Baker) Feasby. Wayne was raised by his loving aunt and
uncle, Russell and Golda Baker. On August 5, 1961, he married Phyllis
Mae Fry who preceded him in death on November 22, 2012. Wayne was a
self-employed farmer for 49 years for Feasby Farms. In the winter
months, he worked for Sims Cab in Payne and for ODOT. He was a member of
Gideon's International, REA Board of Paulding and Putnam counties where
he was the director for 9 years, the Farmers Union, and Farm Bureau. He
was a devoted member of Payne Church of the Nazarene and served on the
church board. Wayne also bred and raised quarter horses, he was also the
tri-state rodeo champion in keg bending with his horse, Chief. He
enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren show horses. He also
enjoyed watching his granddaughters play sports.
Wayne is survived
by his children: Rex (Laurie) Feasby, Payne, OH; Joan Hughes, Payne,
OH; sister, Donna (Leo) Martin, Monroeville, IN; five granddaughters:
Bethany (Paul) DeJarnett, Kelsey (Derek) Stipati, Katelyn (Donavin)
Elkins, Sarah Feasby, and Brenda Feasby; five great-grandsons: Eli,
Owen, Gavin, Cooper, and Landon.
Wayne is also preceded in death by brothers: John, Paul, Jerry, and Harold Feasby; sisters: Cleotha Hart and Opal Marquardt.
A
funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, January 16, 2023, at
Payne Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Mike Harper officiating.
Burial will follow in Lehman Cemetery, Benton Township.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. until the time of services on Monday at the church.
