ANTWERP – The Fairview Lady Apaches remained unbeaten in the Green
Meadows Conference and improved to 11-3 overall on the season with a
53-32 victory over host Antwerp Thursday night in girls basketball
action.
The black and gold opened a 16-11 lead at the end of eight
minutes of action before Fairview extended the advantage to 31-18 at
the intermission. The Lady Apaches scored ten points in the third
quarter and limited Antwerp to four as Fairview posted a 41-22 lead
entering the final stanza.
Kelly Crites paced a trio of Apaches with 15 points while Carrie Zeedyk chipped in 13 markers and Allison Rhodes recorded ten.
Alexis
Taylor finished with six points to aid the Fairview cause followed by
Bethany Singer (three), Sydney Merritt (two), Bethany Shininger (two),
Kayla Mavis (one) and Haley Hammer (one).
Leading the way for the
Lady Archers was Aewyn McMichael with a dozen points and Caroline Rohrs
recorded 11 markers. Hayleigh Jewell also had seven points for the blue
and white and Katryna Fish posted a basket.
Antwerp drops to 6-7 overall and 1-2 in the conference with the loss.
