PAULDING – Hicksville hit the road to Paulding for a Green Meadows
Conference volleyball match Tuesday night with the visiting Aces posting
a straight-set victory over the Panthers at the ‘Jungle.’
The red
and white took the opening set 25-22 and followed that up with an
identical 25-22 victory in game two. Hicksville then closed out the
match by defeating the Panthers 25-16 in game three.
“We were in
it the first two sets but let up at the end,” commented Paulding mentor
Sydney Collins. “Hicksville has one big hitter that they get the ball to
anytime they can. We are still too inconsistent in our offense at the
serving line and at the net. You can’t give a good team too many easy
points and we did that tonight.”
Maci Kauser picked up 11 digs to
lead the way for Paulding with Jocelynn Parrett recording nine digs, two
kills and two aces. Aeylah Hitzeman chipped in five kills and a pair of
blocks for the Lady Panthers while Marley Parrett totaled six kills,
nine digs and one ace. Katie Beckman dished out eight assists and also
posted six slams and a block.
“We will continue to work on cleaning up our serving and becoming more consistent attacking,” Collins concluded.
The
Panther junior varsity recorded a two-set win over the Lady Aces,
taking a 26-24 win in the opening set before posting a 25-17 victory in
game two.
