PAULDING – The host Lady Panther volleyball team and Swanton battled through three sets Thursday night in non-league action with the visiting Bulldogs recording a straight-set sweep of the maroon and white.

Swanton won the opening set 25-17 and then outlasted the Panthers for a 26-24 victory in the second game. The Lady Bulldogs then completed the sweep with a 25-18 win in game three.

Katie Beckman totaled six slams, a block and an ace along with dishing out 14 assists while Jocelynn Parrett totaled seven kills, 13 digs and a pair of aces.

Carlea Kuckuck finished with six slams, three blocks and two aces and Maci Kauser picked up 17 digs while totaling one kill and one ace.

“The girls gave it their all tonight against a solid team,” noted Lady Panther head coach Sydney Collins. “I am extremely proud of how they played. We had our intensity back on the court and fought hard tonight. I saw huge improvements in our play from the last few matches.”

Paulding’s junior varsity picked up another victory, defeating the Bulldogs in three sets. The Lady Panthers won game one 25-22 before Swanton held off the maroon and white for a 25-23 win in the second set. Paulding then took the decisive third set 25-16 to seal the victory.
