HAVILAND
– On Dec. 23, 2021 the Wayne Trace Board of Education held a special
session to vote on the negotiated agreement with the Wayne Trace
Educators Association (WTEA).
All
board members were present for the special session. There were no
guests in attendance. Since there was no time required to give to guests
the board moved immediately into executive session on a motion made by
Pat Baumle, seconded by Rhonda Stabler and unanimously approved by the
board. They moved to executive session to discuss the agreement made
with the WTEA.
The agreement was unanimously approved by the school board.
The
agreement was a three year contract with the WTEA, inlcuding all
teaching staff, custodians/sweepers, aides, secretaries, cafeteria
staff, study hall monitors and bus drivers. The contract will run Sept.
1, 2021 through August 24, 2024. Each year WTEA will get a 3% wage
increase, for the duration of the contract. Since the agreement was
approved after Sept. 1, 2021, the pay will be retroactive to that date.
Also,
Lori Davis, board treasurer noted, “the evaluation of teachers was
updated to comply with the new Ohio Teachers Evaluation System (OTES)
legislation.”
The next regular session meeting will be held on January 10 at 6 p.m. in the Wayne Trace High School lecture room.
