ANTWERP - Delphos Jefferson outscored host Antwerp 14-6 in the third quarter to open a 10-point lead and the Wildcats never looked back in pulling away for a 52-38 victory Tuesday night in non-league girls basketball action.

The Lady Archers held a slim 9-7 lead after eight minutes of action, getting a basket and 3-point field goal from Karsyn Brumett to lead the way. Tiera Gomez also had a trey for Antwerp in the quarter.

However, Delphos Jefferson answered with a trio of 3-pointers of its own in the second quarter and the Lady Wildcats rallied to take a 24-22 advantage at the midway point of the contest.

Delphos Jefferson then opened the game up further in the third quarter.

The Lady Wildcats added 14 points in the period, led by five from sophomore Delaney Deuel, allowed the visitors to extend the lead to 38-28 entering the final stanza.

Delphos Jefferson then wrapped up the win by hitting six of eight free throw attempts while Deuel and freshman Aly Lindeman picked up two baskets each to wrap up the 52-38 victory.

Lindeman paced the Lady Wildcats with 17 points while junior Addy Stewart chipped in a dozen markers and Deuel recorded 11.

Sophomores Kaylee Buzard and Karly Mawhorr each chipped in six for Delphos Jefferson.

Brumett recorded 11 to lead the way for Antwerp while Gomez and Asti Coppes each chipped in six. Chelsea Johanns, Alyvia Devore and Heather Oberlin all finished with four markers for the Lady Archers as well.
