WOODBURN – Host Woodlan scored seven runs in the first two innings and the Lady Warriors sealed the win late in posting a 12-5 victory over Wayne Trace in high school softball action Monday night.

The Lady Warriors scored twice in the first and five more times in the second to take control, going in front 7-0. Woodlan added two more runs in the fifth to make it 9-0 before Wayne Trace put up a five-spot in the top of the sixth to pull within 9-5.

However, Woodlan sealed the outcome with a three-run sixth that extended the margin back to 12-5.

Olivia Wilson, Austin Gaff, Abby Horn and Libby Fisher all combined to pitch Woodlan to the victory. Logen Bland suffered the loss for Wayne Trace, allowing eight hits and seven runs (six earned) while striking out one.

Wilson led the Lady Warriors at the plate, ripping two doubles and a single while driving in four runs and scoring twice. Adrienne Spieth added a single and a double to go along with three runs batted in and scored once.

Austin Gaff also had a double and a home run for Woodlan, driving home two runs and scoring twice. Alivia Ulmer, Mya Jones, Samantha Koos, Brianna Roney and Libby Fisher had a single each for the Warriors with Abigail Cowan recording two singles.

Tatum Tigner posted a single and a home run for Wayne Trace with Emma Crosby, Kaitlin Slade, Laura Thornell, Macy Doster and Logen Bland all adding a single apiece.
