Antwerp golfers beat Montpelier

BRYAN - Austin Lichty fired a round of 40 to lead Antwerp past Montpelier 171-184 in golf action at Suburban Golf Club on Tuesday.

Jake Eaken and Eric Thornell each shot a 42 for the Archers with Gaige McMichael coming in at 47 and Jayvin Landers 52.

Ethan Marihugh was low man for Montpelier with a 44.





Raider golf squads sweep to pair of wins

PAYNE - Wayne Trace’s boys and girls golf teams each picked up a dual match victory on Tuesday afternoon at Pleasant Valley Golf Course as the Raiders knocked off Bryan and Hicksville, respectively.

On the girls side, Kenadie Daeger shot a 41 to lead the Lady Raiders to a 222-250 win over the visiting Aces.

Kristin Wannemacher and Ally Denny each added a 60 for the red-white-and-blue with Riley Daeger carding a 61 and Emma Crosby posted a 65. Rylee Troth rounded out the Raider roster with a 76.

Kenzie Schroeder paced Hicksville with a 51 and Serenity Keesbury chipped in a 57.

Morgan Fogle (70), Leah Seitz (72), Alyssa Seitz (77) and Julia Garza (78) completed the squad for the Lady Aces.

In the boys match, Garrett Williamson shot a 54 to lift the Wayne Trace boys team past Bryan in the fifth man tiebreaker.

Williamson’s 54 was better than Bryan’s fifth person score of 67 from Wyatt Taylor to give the Raiders the victory. Each school posted a 165 through four players.

Dane Moore shot a 35 to lead Wayne Trace and Kaden Sutton added a 37. Evan Crosby and Reid Miller carded rounds of 46 and 47, respectively.

Bryan was paced by Case Hartman with a 36 while Nolan Kidston posted a 41. Drew Dauber and Colin Shirkey both shot a 44 and Sam Doty posted a 76 for the Golden Bears.
