Ottawa-Glandorf broke a scoreless tie with four unearned runs in the fourth inning and went on to defeat Paulding 13-0 on Saturday.

With two away and Nate Maag on second base, an outfield miscue on a fly ball off the bat of Alex Macke plated Maag, and Wes Davidson followed with a two-run homer for O-G. Dylan Wagner was then hit by a pitch and came home on a double by Carter Duling to cap the four-run frame off Paulding starting pitcher Jacob Martinez.

That was more than enough for Maag, who went the distance throwing a four-hit shutout, striking out eight and walking three.

The Titans added one tally in the fifth when Jacob Balbaugh singled, went to second on a wild pitch, advanced to third on a ground out and scored on a wild pitch.

O-G then put the game away with eight in the sixth highlighted by a Jaxon Buddelmeyer three-run home run. Trevor Schimmoeller and Davidson both had two hits in the inning while Balbaugh produced one.

Martinez went four innings permitting four hits and no earned runs in suffering the loss, fanning three and not walking a batter.

“I thought Jacob Martinez pitched very well,” Paulding coach Ben Barton said. “We just didn’t hit very well. We hit into two double plays and I thought that really hurt our momentum.”

Davidson led the 11-hit attack by O-G with a home run, double and two singles, scoring twice and driving in three. Balbaugh added a home run and single with two runs and two RBIs for the Titans, which scored seven unearned runs in the contest in moving to 2-2 on the season.

Hunter Kauser, Payton Beckman, Ethan Foltz and Deyton Price all had singles for the Panthers, which fell to 1-2.
