PORT CLINTON – The Wayne Trace boys and girls track teams traveled to
Port Clinton on Wednesday to take part in the Division III regional
meet with several red, white and blue athletes continuing their seasons.
Junior
Sydnee Sinn highlighted the Raider efforts, setting a new school record
in the 400-meter dash with a time of 56.07 seconds to post the best
time on the day in advancing to Friday’s finals.
Teammate Rachel Stoller moved on in the 400 dash as well, posting a time of 1:00.25 for the fifth best time on the evening.
The
Lady Raider 800 relay quartet of Rachel Stoller, Kiara Bahena, Harper
Myers and Bethany Miller moved on with a sixth best time of 1:48.36.
Wayne Trace also will take part in the 1600 relay, where the foursome of
Stoller, Bahena, Gracie Shepherd and Sinn finished with a regional best
time of 4:03.54 in the preliminary race Wednesday.
On the boys
side, the Raiders’ Brayson Parrish moved on to the finals in the 110
hurdles with a fifth best time of 15.86 seconds.
In the 100-meter
dash, Maddox Treece also advanced to the finals with a time of 11.55
seconds that was seventh best. Treece will run in the 400-meter dash
finals as well, recording a third best time of 50.88 seconds on
Wednesday. The Raider sophomore will make his third appearance in the
finals in the 200-meter dash, where he stands third after Wednesday’s
prelim time of 23.04 seconds.
In regional finals action, Wayne
Trace’s 3200 relay team of Bethany Miller, Madison Gurney, Abby Moore
and Kiara Bahena came up short in regards to advancing to the state meet
but the Lady Raider squad did place seventh with a time of 10:16.05.
