PAULDING – The senior trio of Fletcher Cook, Jaret Miller and Carson Shull led Paulding to a season-high point total in a 75-54 thrashing of Liberty Center on Saturday night.

Cook had 20 points, Miller 19 and Shull 18 in sparking the Panthers to their seventh victory of the season in 16 games. Bailey Manz chipped in seven points for Paulding, whose previous high points on the season was 67 in an eight-point loss to Bluffton back in December.

Shull tallied nine points in the first quarter to key a 19-11 Paulding lead after one, but the Tigers trimmed the deficit to 32-28 at half, thanks to 10 second-quarter points from Trent Murdock.

Cook poured in 10 points in the third to give Paulding a 48-40 advantage heading into the final eight minutes of action. Miller then came through with 10 in the fourth, including 8-10 at the foul line, helping the Panthers pull away for the easy win.

Paulding made 21-29 foul shots for 72 percent and 24-40 from the field for 48 percent. The Panthers had 10 turnovers while LC committed 22, but the Tigers won the battle on the glass 29-23.

Murdock scored a team-high 18 points to lead Liberty Center while Jarrett Krugh netted three 3-pointers in the first stanza and finished with 16 points for the Tigers, which slipped to 6-11 overall.
