HAVILAND - Wayne Trace outscored Lima Central Catholic in every quarter as the Lady Raiders routed the Thunderbirds 55-30 Monday night in non-league action at the Palace.

A pair of free throws by Rosie Williams gave LCC its only lead of the contest at 9-8 but the red, white and blue quickly answered.

Wayne Trace answered with six straight points to end the opening quarter, part of a 19-0 run overall, to grab a 14-9 lead at the end of eight minutes of action.

A basket by Rachel Stoller along with two Katrina Stoller buckets quickly pushed the lead to 20-9 early in the second quarter.

“The girls played well tonight,” noted Wayne Trace mentor Bethany DeJarnett. “I thought everybody came in and contributed and we had some girls step up at key times as we got into a little bit of foul trouble. I was very pleased with the effort tonight.”

After Gracie Shepherd hit one of two free throws for the Lady Raiders, Wayne Trace added baskets from Katrina Stoller, Christina Graham and Claire Sinn to widen the lead to 27-9 before settling on a 27-12 halftime advantage.

Wayne Trace then ended any doubt in the final outcome by putting together a 13-4 run to open the third quarter and seize a 40-16 lead. Claire Sinn, Katie Stoller, Miriam Sinn, Gracie Shepherd and Rachel Stoller all scored in the period for the Lady Raiders.

The red, white and blue went on to take a 43-18 lead into the final period.

Two Katrina Stoller baskets and a bucket from Rachel Stoller started the fourth quarter scoring as the Raiders cruised the rest of the way for the win.

Katrina Stoller topped Wayne Trace with 14 points, four rebounds, two assists and four steals while Claire Sinn added 13 markers, five rebounds and two assists.

“Everybody came in and played well,” continued DeJarnett. “I thought we moved the ball and passed the ball well tonight. But, we have to get back to work and get ready for a league game with Edgerton.”

Katie Stoller chipped in seven markers and three assists with Miriam Sinn and Gracie Shepherd both posting six markers. Shepherd also hauled down eight rebounds with Miriam Sinn posting five rebounds and two assists.

Rachel Stoller also finished with five points, six rebounds, four assists and three steals. Abby Moore and Christina Graham bucketed two markers each with Graham also getting two steals.

Lima Central Catholic was paced by Rosie Williams with 17 points and six rebounds while Sophia Santaguida and Olivia Stolly recorded four markers each.

The Thunderbirds’ took a 29-25 win over Wayne Trace in the junior varsity contest.

Wayne Trace returns to Green Meadows Conference action on Friday as the Lady Raiders host Edgerton.
