DEFIANCE – Wayne Trace rallied from an early deficit with a four-run fourth inning and the Raiders posted a 6-4 ACME baseball victory in sectional action last week.

The Apaches scored single runs in the first and third for a 2-0 advantage before Wayne Trace answered with the four-run frame to take a 4-2 lead. After Fairview scored single runs in the fourth and fifth to tie the game at 4-4, the red, white and blue took the lead for good with two runs in the sixth for the 6-4 victory.

With the score tied entering the top of the sixth, Carter Clemens led off with a single before Tyler Davis struck out. After Lane Morehead was hit by a pitch, the Raiders took the lead when Clemens scored on a wild pitch and Morehead came in to score on a Fairview error.

Carter Clemens had a pair of singles and scored twice with Tyler Davis tripling, driving in two runs and scoring once. Kyle Forrer also had a single and a run scored with Jordan Lotz singling as well. Lane Morehead also scored a pair of runs for Wayne Trace.

Eli Shininger posted three singles for Fairview with Ejhah Arend doubling. Kolton Schooley, Abram Shininger, Jude Shininger and Cole Mack all singled for the Apaches while Schooley, Abram Shininger, Jude Shininger and Jack Karzynow picked up an RBI each. Schooley also scored twice for the black and gold with Abram Shininger and Mack also scoring a run apiece.

Breven Anderson got the win on the mound for Wayne Trace, throwing five innings scattering seven hits, four earned runs and three walks while striking out five. Davis tossed the final two frames with two strikeouts while allowing two walks and a hit.

Jude Shininger took the loss for Fairview, giving up one hit and two runs (one earned) while striking out three in 2-2/3 innings. Eli Shininger, Abram Shininger and Adam Lashaway also pitched for the black and gold.
