The Pigskin Picks column featuring the three sports writers from the Paulding Progress along with the Progress editor, Sheriff Jason Landers and local business owner Mike Iler is officially over with the conclusion of the high school football regular season.

To no surprise, Mike Iler is declared the winner after being consistent each week with his picks. Congratulations to Mike and all his sports-minded customers who stopped by the restaurant and helped him with his picks.

Iler finished 76-21 and in the last two weeks the Past Time Restaurant owner was 19-1 and held down the top spot all ten weeks of the contest.

Finishing second, in a two-way tie was Bruce Hefflinger and Joe Shouse with 68-29 records. Hefflinger covers Paulding Panther sports for the Progress while Shouse cover the Antwerp Archers.

Kevin Wannemacher, who covers everything Wayne Trace, finished fourth at 63-34 with Editor Jennifer Dempsey taking fifth at 58-39.

Sheriff (Mr. Loyalty) Landers finished sixth at 56-41 and admits he would always pick the three county schools, the Colts and the Buckeyes.

Until next year, may the winter sports season bring lots of wins for all our county schools.

In the meantime Bruce Hefflinger, Joe Shouse and Kevin Wannemacher will be asking our editor if we can vote Iler out of the contest next year - he's just too good.
