Alivya Bakle drove in seven runs to support the five-hit pitching of Leigha Egnor in leading Paulding to an 18-1 run-rule victory over Ottawa-Glandorf on Saturday.

Bakle hit a single, double and home run while scoring four runs for the host Panthers, while Egnor had a single, double and triple with four RBIs and three runs scored. The senior hurler also struck out four and did not walk anyone in picking up the pitching win.

“Alivya had a big day at the plate and Leigha had another stellar performance on the mound,” noted Paulding coach Mallory Clark. “Not only did Leigha have an impressive mound performance, she helped her own case with four RBIs on three hits, one being a bases-loaded triple.”

The Panthers pounded out 15 hits and stole 11 bases - three apiece by Gabbie Stallbaum and Bakle - in picking up their second win in three outings. Paulding also did not commit an error.

“We did the basic things necessary to win,” Clark said. “We hit the ball and we caught the ball. We had some outstanding performances from Jalynn Parrett in center field, Gabbie Stallbaum at shortstop and Leigha on the mound. I’m really pleased with another error-free game.”

Stallbaum continued her early-season success at the plate with three singles, four runs and a pair of RBIs while Parrett had two singles and scored three times.

Bennett hit a pair of singles to lead O-G.
