DEFIANCE – Girls Division II sectional golf took place Tuesday at Auglaize Golf Club with all three Paulding County schools taking part in the sectional tournament.

Wayne Trace just missed a district berth as a team as the Raiders finished in fourth place with the top three moving on to the districts.

Individually, Antwerp senior McCartney Lucas moved on to the districts with an 88 to claim the first individual advancing spot. Wayne Trace senior Riley Daeger was in a three-way playoff to grab a district berth but came up short in wrapping up her career with a round of 90.

Van Buren, Hicksville and Napoleon took the top three spots to claim the team berths in the district tournament next week. The Black Knights shot a 359 with the Aces carding a 371 to finish second. Napoleon then placed third with a 382 and Wayne Trace took fourth at 400.

Miller City (425), Tinora (436), Patrick Henry (444), Antwerp (457), McComb (460), Edgerton (465) and Ayersville (488) completed the team scores.

Individuals advancing along with Lucas were Miller City junior Chelsea Erford (90) and Patrick Henry sophomore Kasey Nelson (90).

The tournament also brought an end to the careers of seniors Anna Miller and Kristin Wannemacher as Miller posted a score 100 with Wannemacher shooting a 105. Freshman Raegan McGarvey and junior Brenna Parker also chipped in 105’s for the Lady Raiders.

For Antwerp, senior Melanie Mills chipped in a 113 followed by junior Isabelle Litzenberg (124), junior Kahlea Shook (132) and junior Jill Magoulas (133).

Paulding freshman Delaney Dachenhaus took part individually for the Lady Panthers, finishing the day with a score of 130.
