DEFIANCE – Wayne Trace went on the road in the third week of Green Meadows Conference volleyball action where the Lady Raiders held off host Tinora for a five-set victory over the Lady Rams.

The green and white picked up the win in the opening set 25-18 before the red, white and blue responded with consecutive victories of 25-21 and 25-14. Tinora then evened the match with a 25-19 win in the fourth game but Wayne Trace answered with a 15-9 victory in the decisive fifth set.

Gracie Shepherd topped the Lady Raiders with 22 kills and 25 digs with Sydnee Sinn chipping in 18 slams and picked up 14 digs.

Paige Alber also dished out 19 assists and a dozen digs while Kacy Hornish finished the night with 33 assists, 15 digs and three kills.

Kaitlin Slade picked up 24 digs for Wayne Trace with Macy Doster getting a dozen and Elise Miller recorded eight. Lexi Moore and Harper Myers finished the night with five and four blocks, respectively, and Torree Sinn had two.

Myers chipped in eight kills as well for the Lady Raiders and Torree Sinn finished with four. Moore totaled three slams as well for Wayne Trace.

Wayne Trace improves to 11-2 overall on the season and 3-0 in the Green Meadows Conference. Tinora falls to 5-6 in all matches and 1-2 in the conference.

The Lady Raider junior varsity came up short to the Rams, falling 25-20 in the opening set before outlasting the Rams 29-27 in game two. Tinora, though, captured the third set 25-11.

Addison Stoller totaled five assists and five digs for Wayne Trace while Ava Zartman recorded six kills and eight digs. Careen Winans chipped in four kills, three aces and ten digs and Caroline Winans finished with 26 digs. Kathleen Stoller posted two kills with Lorie Sinn contributing eight assists, three aces and four digs.

Natalie Stoller also had two kills and four digs with Tori Young picking up five digs.
