HAVILAND - Claire Sinn scored 20 points and grabbed a team high nine rebounds to lead the Wayne Trace Lady Raiders to a 61-31 win over visiting Tinora in Green Meadows Conference girls basketball action Friday night at the Palace.

Tinora’s only lead of the contest came at 3-2 following a three-pointer by the Rams’ Aaliyah Hurtt with 4:22 left in the opening quarter.

The Raiders, though, outscored the green and white 17-7 over the final four minutes to take control of the game with a 19-10 advantage after eight minutes of action.

Wayne Trace gradually pulled away from there, outscoring the Lady Rams 15-8 in the second stanza to seize a 34-18 margin at the midway point.

The red, white and blue took a 52-27 advantage into the final period.

Claire Sinn also dished out a pair of assists and picked up five steals for Wayne Trace as the Lady Raiders improve to 8-3 overall and 1-0 in the league.

Miriam Sinn chipped in 16 points to go along with three assists, five steals and a pair of rebounds while Katrina Stoller added 11 points and three boards.

Raider head coach Bethany DeJarnett was pleased with where her squad is at the halfway point of the season, especially after a very busy stretch during the holidays.

“We had a lot of girls contribute tonight,” noted the Lady Raider mentor. “It has been a busy stretch for us here the last couple of weeks but the girls have continued to battle and play hard.”

Gracie Shepherd added six points and six rebounds with Rachel Stoller adding three points and five boards. Abby Moore (two), Katie Stoller (two) and Christina Graham (one) completed the scoring for the red, white and blue, who wrapped up a stretch of seven games in 17 days.

Anna Frazer topped Tinora with eight points while Tristen Norden added seven markers and picked up five rebounds. Aaliyah Hurtt chipped in six points and four rebounds for the Rams, who fall to 1-10 overall.

Wayne Trace’s junior varsity opened league play with a 32-31 overtime win over the Rams.
