DEFIANCE - Paulding is off to a great start in the Northwest Conference after edging Columbus Grove and Lincolnview in action at Auglaize Golf Club on Friday. The Panthers totaled 177 while the Bulldogs and Lancers each shot a 180, with Grove winning the fifth-man tiebreaker by one stroke.

Kolson Egnor shot a 39 to lead the way for Paulding, which is now 2-0 in the NWC and overall. Noah Pessefall finished at 45 while Kyle Dominique had a round of 46 and Kyle Harris a 47.

“I’m very pleased with our effort tonight,” Paulding coach Steve Heilshorn said. “Kolson is really starting to play with confidence. Noah Pessefall and Kyle Dominique kept from any large numbers on any hole and played very consistently  (neither shooting more than a double bogey) while Kyle Harris, a first-year player as a junior, has played well the past two matches. As he improves, he will be a major contributor for our team. Tonight he really came through for us with his 47 which helped us beat both Columbus Grove and Lincolnview.”

Owen Macke had a 39 for Grove to share medalist honors with Egnor.

Evan Miller led Lincolnview with a 41 with Grant Glossett contributing a 43.
