SPENCERVILLE – Spencerville High School was the site for many high school and junior high cross-country teams from around Northwest Ohio on Saturday as Antwerp and Wayne Trace each made the trip for the Bearcat Invitational.

In the varsity boys meet, Antwerp finished seventh with 207 points while the Raiders took 13th with 320 points.

Avin Johnson recorded a 34th place finish in 19:10.6 to lead the Archers with Jason Geyer placing 38th in 19:19.3. Other blue and white runners included Josh Timbrook (42nd, 19:26.5), Eli Reinhart (55th, 19:54.4) and Alex Zijlstra (81st, 21:00.4).

For Wayne Trace, Seth Meggison paced the Raiders taking 54th in 19:53.2 and Alan Keysor was 61st with a time of 20:21.9. Ethan Moore finished 88th in 21:28.3 followed by Carson Rupp (104th, 22:21.9), Logan Miller (105th, 22:25.4), Austin Lyons (106th, 22:27.9) and Noah Schisler (147th, 31:23.9).

The varsity girls portion of the meet saw Antwerp finish in fourth with 170 points and Wayne Trace placed sixth with 187.

Leading the way for the Lady Raiders was Kassidy Campbell, who placed 11th in 21:27.8, and Kiara Bahena, who finished 13th with a time of 21:31.9.

Elizabeth Mohr was the next red, white and blue runner, finishing 56th in 24:29.2, followed by Faith Meraz (63rd, 25:15.1), Brenna Thomas (74th, 25:46.1), Libby Meraz (83rd, 26:28.8) and Makenna Elliott (92nd, 27:03.8).

Pacing the Lady Archers was Aeriel Snyder with a time of 22:08.3, taking 19th place. Siera Octaviano finished 25th in 22:31.8 and Katie Farr took 38th in 23:27.4.

Rounding out the list of Archer participants were Laura Miller (51st, 24:05.6), Makenna Smith (59th, 24:49.6), Isabelle Graham (62nd, 25:12.1), Emma Saul (86th, 26:32.2), Morgan Boesch (102nd, 27:36.1), Shaylee Garrett (108th, 28:04.6) and Megan O’Donnell (125th, 32:46.6).

Neither Antwerp nor Wayne Trace had enough runners for full squads in the junior high girls portion but both schools had individual runners.

The Archers’ Leigha Doster led the way with a time of 14:10.1, good for 16th place, while teammate Taylor Steibling took 24th in 14:35.0. Wayne Trace was paced by Anna Meraz, who posted a time of 14:51.5 for 32nd place.

Other local runners were Wayne Trace’s Mackenzie Silance (51st, 16:03.6), the Raiders’ Morgan Elliott (72nd, 19:17.4) and Antwerp’s Emory Erhart (73rd, 19:32.7).

In the junior high boys portion, the Raiders took third place as a team and were led individually by Prestyn Schnepp, who finished sixth in 11:59.6.

Rounding out the list of red, white and blue finishers were Gage Ogle (17th, 12:29.8), Lance Maenle (18th, 12:33.4), Riley Manz (19th, 12:35.4), Seth Rosswurm (30th, 13:05.7), Tyson Gerber (34th, 13:19.1), Corbin Kimmel (41st, 13:32.7), Aiden Lee (72nd, 14:58.1), Logan Gerschutz (80th, 15:25.4), Trent Thornell (93rd, 16:16.0) and Konnor Wannemacher (116th, 20:37.9).

Ty Jackson led Antwerp, crossing the line in 35th place with a time of 13:23.2, while Skyler Octaviano took 75th in 15:07.2. Owen Franks ran a time of 15:14.0, good for 77th place.
