GROVER HILL – The Paulding County cross country meet was held Tuesday night at Welcome Park in Grover Hill with the Wayne Trace girls and the Antwerp boys capturing team titles.

The Lady Raiders totaled 21 points to win the girls meet with Antwerp taking second at 34 points. Paulding did not field a full team.

Wayne Trace’s Kiara Bahena and Abby Moore took the top two spots individually with times of 21:00 and 21:18, respectively. Antwerp’s Leigha Doster finished third in 21:21 with the Archers’ Aeriel Snyder taking fourth in 22:45.06, just ahead of the Raiders’ Aubree Miller fifth place finish in 22:45.70.

The rest of the top ten finishers included Wayne Trace’s Abby Elkins (sixth, 23:33), the Raiders’ Anna Meraz (23:56) and the Antwerp trio of Lyla Clem (24:35), Emma Saul (24:36) and Isabelle Graham (24:38).

Taking eleventh place was Wayne Trace’s Elizabeth Mohr (24:44) followed by Antwerp’s Makenna Smith (25:27), the Archers’ Sara Farr (26:29), Paulding’s Cassie Weller (26:38), Wayne Trace’s Libby Meraz (26:55), the Raiders’ Laura Thornell (27:57), the Panthers’ Adrianna Carwile (30:06), Wayne Trace’s Kara Stoller (33:45) and Paulding’s Moriah Griffiths (35:16).

On the boys side, the Archers nipped second place Wayne Trace 34-37 to win the meet while Paulding was third at 49.

The Archers’ Kamren Johnson was the first runner to cross the finish line, posting a time of 18:06, with teammate Avin Johnson finishing second in 18:14.

Wayne Trace’s Gage Ogle claimed third overall in 18:51 while Antwerp’s Alex Zijlstra (19:27) and the Raiders’ Prestyn Schnepp (19:43) to round out the top five runners.

Placing sixth through tenth were Paulding’s Cully Thompson (20:21), the Panthers’ Jack Schweller (20:23), Wayne Trace’s Aiden Lee (20:48), the Raiders’ Seth Rosswurm (20:55) and Paulding’s Eli Jones (21:48).

Completing the boys runners were Paulding’s Jeremiah Koenig (11th, 22:06), Wayne Trace’s Riley Manz (22:33), Antwerp’s John Bailey (23:28), the Archers’ Owen Franks (23:57), the Panthers’ Grayson Harder (24:06), Paulding’s Wesley Ludwig (24:31.01), the Panthers’ Garrett McClure (24:31.32), Antwerp’s Skylar Octaviano (24:40), the Archers’ Levi Shelton (27:11) and Wayne Trace’s Ryan Bostelman (27:21).

Wayne Trace’s Eli Treece was the first junior high boys runner to complete the course, posting a time of 12:06.02, to just nip second place runner Max Daeger of Paulding (12:06.34).

The Panther trio of Landon Grinnell (13:11), Achilles Mead (13:13) and Graham Miller (13:52) took third through fifth while Antwerp’s Gage Barker placed sixth in 13:54.

Gabby Snyder of Antwerp won the junior high girls portion in 14:11 and Paulding’s Kyler Foor placed second in 14:23. Wayne Trace’s Ellie Kurtz took third with a time of 15:05.
