HILLIARD – Antwerp junior Hannah Molitor earned all-state recognition on two apparatuses at the OHSAA State Gymnastics Championship, at Hilliard-Bradley High School on Saturday.

Molitor placed tied for eighth place on the bars, with a score of 9.175, and she finished eighth on the beam with a score of 9.275. One needed to finish in the top ten in order to be selected as all-state.

“Overall, I’m really proud of how I did,” said Molitor. “I did better than last year, so that’s all I can really ask for.”

She scored a 9.125 on the vault to place tied for 23rd. Her floor exercise routine earned her a 26th place. All those scores combined for an all-around score of 36.60 and a 14th-place finish for Molitor in the all-around.

Molitor will return next year as a senior, with a focus on continuing to improve, in order to get back to the state meet for the fourth consecutive year.

“The main goal for me moving forward is continuing to improve, and hopefully, maybe we place next year.”
