ANTWERP – In a battle of Paulding County and Green Meadows Conference rivals, the Wayne Trace Lady Raiders coasted to a straight set win over host Antwerp Tuesday night.

The red, white and blue cruised to a 25-10 win in the opening set of the night before holding off the Archers for a 25-19 victory in game two. Wayne Trace then closed out the match by rolling to a 25-13 win in the third set.

Gracie Shepherd and Sydnee Sinn posted 17 and 13 kills, respectively, to lead the way for the Lady Raiders. Kacy Hornish dished out 19 assists and Paige Alber contributed 16 helpers for Wayne Trace.

Shepherd picked up 20 digs as well for the red, white and blue and Kaitlin Slade finished with 16 digs. Macy Doster also posted 13 digs for the Lady Raiders to go along with five from Alber and four by Sydnee Sinn.

Elise Miller finished with three aces and three digs to along with Shepherd totaling three aces for the Lady Raiders. Hornish also recorded two kills and seven digs while Slade recorded three aces and Lexi Moore had three kills. Torree Sinn also had three kills for Wayne Trace.

Antwerp was led by Addyson Hormann with a dozen assists and eight digs while Ashlynn Hinkle picked up six digs and Emma Townley recorded ten.

Madelyn O’Donnell finished with six kills with Caroline Rohrs totaling nine digs and two aces. Ratana Owen also had 11 digs for the Lady Archers while Jillian Treece aided the Antwerp cause with 11 digs and four kills. Katryna Fish also recorded a pair of slams for the blue and white.

Wayne Trace’s junior varsity also picked up a three-set win over the host Lady Archers.

The red, white and blue outlasted Antwerp for a 26-24 victory in the opening set before the blue and white answered to win game two 25-21. Wayne Trace then captured the decisive third set 25-19 to close out the match victory.

Ava Zartman totaled six kills, four aces and six digs to lead the way for Wayne Trace with Careen Winans adding five slams, six aces and eight digs. Kathleen Stoller recorded four kills and five digs while Lorie Sinn, Natalie Stoller and Riley Hildebrand picked up two kills apiece.

Lorie Sinn and Addison Stoller each dished out seven assists with Stoller also picking up two digs. Tori Young chipped in four digs as well for Wayne Trace.

Wayne Trace improved to 12-2 overall on the season as the Lady Raiders also raised their record to 4-0 in Green Meadows Conference action. Antwerp drops to 6-11 in all matches and the Archers remain winless in four conference matchups.
