BOWLING GREEN – The Canton Central Catholic Crusaders will make the trip to Bowling Green State University Wednesday evening to battle Wayne Trace in the Division III regional semifinals.

The Crusaders are an independent, meaning they do not participate in a league, and Canton Central Catholic played a schedule that included games against nine Division I opponents with five of them being losses.

Canton Central Catholic was also 8-2 against Division III opponents and 1-0 against Division IV squads while posting a 3-2 record against Division II schools.

The Crusaders are a senior-dominated squad as well as the seven seniors combine to average 37.5 points per game out of the 53.5 markers a night Canton Central Catholic averages.

Senior Dylan Rouse (6-4) leads the way for the Crusaders at 12.4 points per game while grabbing 6.2 rebounds per game. Rouse also tops the squad with 56 assists and 52 steals.

Sophomore Luke Vlacovsky (6-0) adds a dozen markers a night while hauling in 59 boards on the season and dishing out 52 assists. Vlacovsky tops Canton Central Catholic with 40 three-point field goals and a free throw percentage of 80.4 percent (37 of 46) while being second on the squad with 45 steals.

Senior DaMonte Degraffenried (6-3) is the third Crusader player to score in twin digits with 11.8 points a night to go along with 70 rebounds, 39 assists and 41 steals.

Junior Gavin Layman (5-9) chips in 2.8 points a night with 21 rebounds, 33 assists and 15 steals on the season.

Senior Finley Stewart (6-3) has totaled 32 points, 26 rebounds, nine assists and 15 steals this year with fellow senior Jack Talkington (6-2) posting 6.3 points a night to go along with 108 rebounds, 22 assists and 37 steals.

Senior Ethan Ragon (6-2) contributes five markers a night and picked up 36 rebounds, 33 assists and 11 steals this year.

Ragon and Degraffenried both have hit 19 three-point field goals this season while Rouse shoots 72 percent at the free throw line (59 of 81) followed by Ragon (70.8 percent) and Degraffenried (69.6 percent). Degraffenried (56.5 percent), Layman (55.4), Ragon (54.1), Vlacovsky (52.9) and Rouse (52.2) are the top five shooters from the field for the Crusaders.
