ANTWERP – The Antwerp Archers rolled to a 49-7 win over Fairview in Green Meadows Conference football action Friday night at Archer Field.

The blue and white dominated the opening stanza, scoring four times in route to a 28-0 advantage at the end of one period. Antwerp extended the lead in the second quarter with a pair of touchdowns, expanding the margin to 42-0 at the midway point of the contest.

In the third quarter, the Archers added one more touchdown as the local squad widened the lead to 49-0 entering the final period.

Dayne Sholl scored on a pair of touchdown runs for Antwerp while Camden Fuller, Parker Moore, Reid Lichty and Landon Brewer all caught scoring strikes.

Lichty rumbled for 83 yards on nine carries to lead Antwerp with Sholl gaining 25 yards on seven tries. Carson Altimus added ten yards over three attempts as well for the Archers.

Altimus ended the night 14 of 18 through the air for 308 yards and Fuller completed a pair of passes for 17 yards.

Fuller, Moore, Lichty and Brewer each hauled in a quartet of receptions with Fuller topping the Archers at 99 receiving yards. Lichty had 93 yards while Brewer totaled 79 and Moore recorded 54.

Brent Grine led Fairview with 73 rushing yards on 17 carries with Jesse Coolman scoring the lone Fairview touchdown on a four-yard run with 39 seconds left in the contest.

Both teams were bitten by the penalty bug as the Archers were flagged eight times for 70 yards while the Apaches committed ten penalties for 95 yards.

Antwerp finished the night with 443 yards of total offense in the contest while limiting Fairview to 134 yards. The blue and white racked up 19 first downs as well with the black and gold posting five.

Syris Gale paced the Archer defense with eight tackles while Cohen Hitzeman also finished with eight stops on the night. Caleb Laker also picked up five tackles for Antwerp while Dayne Sholl and Xander Smith both recorded four.

Camden Fuller recorded a 68-yard fumble recovery for a return for Antwerp with Tavin Sholl and Dayne Sholl recovering fumbles as well for the blue and white.

Derek Hines recorded the lone sack for Antwerp.

Week seven of the high school football season brings a matchup of the blue and white’s biggest rival as Antwerp makes the trip to Raider Field to take on Wayne Trace.
