    COLUMBUS – Paulding County saw a quartet of local athletes bring home a state title on Saturday as Wayne Trace juniors Sydnee Sinn, Kiara Bahena and Gracie Shepherd as well as senior Rachel Stoller all came home as State Champions from the Division III state track meet.

    PORT CLINTON – The Wayne Trace boys and girls track teams traveled to Port Clinton on Wednesday to take part in the Division III regional meet with several red, white and blue athletes continuing their seasons.

    The Wayne Trace softball team gave Hilltop all it wanted Wednesday afternoon in Division IV Regional action at Joe Wilson Field in Clyde. However, the Lady Cadets scored a pair of unearned runs and held off the Lady Raiders to post a 4-3 victory and advance to Friday’s regional championship against Lincolnview.

    ANTWERP - Antwerp was two outs away from the end of the season.

    But Reid Lichty kept the Archers postseason dreams alive with a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving Antwerp a 2-1 victory over Hicksville in Division IV sectional championship action on Thursday.

    HAVILAND – Wayne Trace scored in five of six innings and the Raiders cruised to a 10-2 win over visiting Edgerton to capture the Division IV Sectional championship Thursday night at Wayne Trace High School.

    ELIDA – It wasn’t pretty and it wasn’t their best effort of the season but the Wayne Trace Lady Raiders did enough to advance in a 9-5 Division IV district softball semifinal victory over Lima Central Catholic at Elida Tuesday night.
  • Long ball lifts Antwerp past Van Wert

    ANTWERP - Antwerp belted six home runs in a 20-8 six-inning win over Van Wert on Tuesday. Trailing 8-6, the Archers went in front with four runs in the bottom of the fifth, then earned the run-rule victory with a 10-spot in the last of the sixth.
