Terry Lee Elliott, 70, of Van Wert, departed this life on Friday, July 29, 2022, at Lutheran Hospital, after a year-long battle with cancer.

He was born on April 8, 1952, and graduated from Grover Hill High School in 1970. Terry enjoyed sports and was an avid golfer in his adult years, even winning some local amateur tournaments. In his youth, Terry played bass guitar in the Harrison Street Reunion Band. His love for music continued throughout his life and he passed this on to his children, who were more familiar with bands from the ‘60s and ‘70s than a typical ‘90s kid should be. Terry spent more than 20 years as a machinist with Dietrich Industries of Hicksville. His most memorable quality was his ability to bring laughter to those around him. Terry had a sense of humor, laugh, and smile that was hard to ignore, and he loved sharing it with family, friends, and anyone around him. Terry exuded this bright, positive spirit to the very end.

He leaves to cherish his memory his children, Travis Elliott (Amy) of Indiana, Tisha Collins (Jack) of Virginia, Angela Powell (Robert) of Van Wert; eight grandchildren aged zero to 16; identical twin brother Gary Elliott (Claudia), brother Dan Elliott, his beloved nieces and nephews; and longtime companion Tina Eibling.

Go rest high on that mountain, Dad.

Your work on earth is done.

Wish we could see the angels faces

When they hear your sweet voice sing.

- Vince Gill
