DEFIANCE – Sillous A. Wilder, age 78, died Sunday, Dec. 24, at his residence.

He was born June 20, 1939 in Paulding County, the son of the late Gerald and Causby (Wilson) Wilder.  On July 20, 1962 he married Caroline Sue Gill who preceded him in death on August 13, 2004.  He was a US Army veteran and loved fishing, hunting and gardening.  He retired in 1993 from the former Quality Drop Forge, Defiance.

He is survived by four daughters, Tammy Wilder, Paulding, Beth (Terrence) Hunter, Paulding, Cheryl Wilder (Jeremy) Blair, Continental, and Amy Jo (J.R.) Dorman, Paulding; two sisters, Thelma Fleener, Loveland, CO, and Lula Belle (Dennis) Gray, Bryan, OH; seven grandchildren; and 13 great grandchildren.

He is also preceded in death by a son, Gary Wilder; four brothers, Lester, Lewis, Otis, and Hilery; and three sisters, infant Beulah Wilder, Alta Minnick and Ruby Marrs.

Funeral services will be conducted 2:30 PM Saturday, Dec. 30 at Rose Hill Church of God.  Burial will follow in Pleasant Grove Cemetery, Paulding County.

Visitation will be 4 - 8 p.m. Friday, Dec. 29 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding.  There will also be visitation at the church on Saturday from 1:30 p.m. until service time.
