PAULDING – Nellie “Polly” Robinson, age 88, died Wednesday, Feb. 8 while in Hospice Care of Van Wert.

She was born July 16, 1928 in Union County, N.C., to the late Earl and Mary Chloe (Crisco) Howard. On Jan. 27, 1951, she married Leroy “Robbie” Robinson, who preceded her in death Sept. 13, 1996. She worked at Parson’s IGA and Paul & Millie’s Diner. She was an avid bowler in the Women’s League at Hoover Lanes, was a past member of the Paulding Fair Board and Paulding Horseman Association. She was a current member of the Paulding United Methodist Church, Paulding Post 587 VFW Auxiliary, Paulding Athletic Boosters and Paulding County Senior Center. She loved to sew, cook and garden, talk to her friend Mary Rhodes on the phone and enjoyed watching “Wheel of Fortune” and “Jeopardy!”.

She is survived by her children, Bonita Pepper and Jill (Ronnie) Breedlove, both of Paulding, Robin (Steve) Arn of Newark, Ted (Cheryl) Robinson of Bellefontaine, and Wanda (Hank) Allen of Joelton, Tenn.; stepson, Daniel (Marge) Robinson, St. Peters, Mo.; sister, Viola Smith; brothers, Melvin, Gary, Charles and Keith Howard, all of rural North Carolina; 12 grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandsons.

She also was preceded in death by brothers, Homer “Gene”, Wade, William “Pete” and JB Howard; and a sister, Patricia “Bobby” Griffin.

Funeral services will be conducted 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 11 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. She will be laid to rest in St. Paul Cemetery, Paulding.

Visitation will be 11 a.m.-1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to Paulding County Senior Center or Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center.
