DEFIANCE – Former Paulding County resident Colleen Ann (Rothenbuhler) Hanenkratt, age 73, passed away Wednesday, Jan. 9 at the Toledo Hospital, Toledo.

She was born April 18, 1945 in Paulding to the late Ray and Ruby (Cotterman) Rothenbuhler. In 1997, she married John F. Hanenkratt, who survives. She was a member of the Defiance Church of the Nazarene. She was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She is also survived by three children, Laura Ann (Steven) Donaldson, Paulding, Randy Ray Smith, Defiance and Lisa Marie (Robert) Thornburg, Southaven, Miss.; stepchildren, Barry (Karen) Hanenkratt, Oakwood, and Shelly Hanenkratt, Defiance; eight grandchildren, Rachel (Randy) Peterson, Andrea (Cody) Snider, Casandra Panico, Shawn Guelde, Lauren Thornburg, Eric Hanenkratt, Brent (Marisa) Hanenkratt and Josh (Megan) Hanenkratt; and seven great-grandchildren, Mason, Tucker, Ayden, Chevy, Lincoln, Joshua Jr. and Miah.

She also was preceded in by a daughter, Penney Peart; and two siblings, Larry Rothenbuhler and Carol Steele.

Funeral services will be conducted 4 p.m. Monday, Jan. 14 at Defiance Church of the Nazarene. She will be buried in Wiltsie Cemetery, Payne, at a later date. Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding, is handling arrangements.

Visitation will be 1-4 p.m. Monday at the church.
