July 26, 2022 Charles E Scarbrough known as Gene, finished his life on earth and stepped into the presence of God.

Gene was born on 2/11/1925 in Grover Hill OH to Fay and Gladys Scarbrough, who preceded him in death. He was married to Nova Thrasher for nearly 71 years, who also preceded him in death. Gene and Nova had three daughters, Debra Dunham, (Chuck), Melanie Dotson, (John) and Algene Westgate (Wayne). Melanie also preceded him in death. Gene had 11 grandchildren, Ryan Dunham , Kim Harness, Jason Dunham, Melissa Moore and Patric Dunham, Stephen Yurcaba, Rachel Dotson and Lauren Dalgetty, Adam Westgate, Lesleigh Moore and Gena Smith. He had 31 great grandchildren and one great, great granddaughter.

He always said, “there’s not a bad one in the bunch!” He was so loved. Gene has two surviving brothers, Jerry and Gail Scarbrough. His other siblings, John Scarbrough, Pat Ward, Marge Stahl, and Carol Bryant preceded him in death.

Gene loved life! As a motivational engineer, his favorite word was THINK. He was a very talented artist and a jack of all trades. He was an encourager and great story teller. Gene served in the US Navy in WWII. He was so proud to have served his country.
