PAULDING – Albert “Jack” G. Monroe, age 83, died Friday, Nov. 17.

He was born July 5, 1934 in West Union, the son of the late James D. and Mary L. (Bradford) Monroe. On Nov. 5, 1983, he married Mary A. Mason Haney. He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Paulding Church of the Nazarene. He retired in 1994 from BF Goodrich after 29 years and was a member of the Goodrich Retirement Club.

He is survived by his wife, Mary A. Monroe, Paulding; children, Mary L. Monroe and John C. (Karen) Monroe, both of Fort Wayne; sisters, Iva Garver, Pauline Parrish and Alma Riggenbach, all of Paulding, and Wilma (Jim) Ashcroft, Fort Wayne; a granddaughter, Alexis; and many nieces and nephews.

He also was preceded in death by his brothers, Jerry, James “Buck” and Walter Monroe; and a sister-in-law, Cathleen Monroe.

Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 22 at Paulding Church of the Nazarene with Pastor Jeremy Thompson officiating. Burial will follow in Live Oak Cemetery with military graveside rites accorded by VFW Post #587.

Visitation will be 3-8 p.m. Tuesday, Nov. 21 at Den Herder Funeral Home, Paulding. Visitation also will be on Wednesday from 9 a.m. until time of services at the church.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations made to Paulding Church of the Nazarene or CHP Hospice of Defiance.
