Dear Editor,

The Festival of Wreaths is going very well. I have received many beautiful wreaths and some wonderful prizes.

Prizes are given to the most unusual wreath, the wreath with the highest bid and those with the most votes.

It is not to late to make a wreath of any theme to donate. All voting and bidding are done online at the face book page Paulding Ohio Festival of Wreaths. The wreaths will be on display at the Festival of Trees at the JPHS Museum.

Last year approximately 50 wreaths brought in $3,105.00, so I am hoping to meet or beat that number.

Something new this year was a project to get a wreath or door hanger on every Paulding County nursing home resident’s door or wall. Thanks to preschools, school classes and Girl Scout troops that will be happening. They will be displayed with the wreaths and there will be a donation box set up. For any donation you can sponsor a wreath or door hanger.

My CASA (Court Appointed Special Advocates) tree will be loaded with warm hats, scarves, mittens and gloves. Response to this project was overwhelming. After the festival the CASAs will be passing these out to the children and not only will Paulding County be covered but there are enough to cover other Northwest Ohio CASA children as well.

Paulding County people are the best. I can’t thank everyone enough for any part you had in making these projects a success. Every time I do a project the response is amazing and I appreciate all of you.

So head out to the Festival of Trees and look at all the fine art work for our Nursing Home residents and sponsor one or more with a donation. Look at all the beautiful wreaths and go online to vote and bid.

Thank you,

Rhonda Bakle
