PAULDING
– The Paulding County Carnegie Library is wrapping up another
successful Summer Reading Program. Thank you to all who participated.
The library will be closed for Labor Day on September 5.
The Adult
section will be having their Cookbook Club meeting on Monday, August
15th at 5:30 p.m. Bring a prepared noodle (or anything you would call a
noodle) dish and the recipe and join our “Oodles of Noodles” buffet.
Every Thursday at 1 p.m., take a little time for yourself and join us
for “Coffee Talk”, a casual little gathering where we discuss anything
and everything and meet with old friends and make new ones. Make sure to
stop by and chat with our “front desk team” to get their latest updates
on all the best reads out there. Seriously, Vicki, Jamy and Kelly know!
Are you interested in family history or local history? Kelly is
available to help you with that. If it’s out there, she will find it or
show you how to. If there is a skill you would like to teach or learn,
contact Ali and she will see if we can make it happen.
The
Children’s Room is planning a “Last Blast Before the Class” party on
Tuesday August 16 from 3-5 p.m. outdoor games and fun are on the agenda.
There might even be some water involved. See us for all you reading
needs when school starts and check out our non-fiction section.
The
Antwerp branch will have Book Club on August 8th at 6 p.m., Cookbook
Club on August 15th at 5:45 p.m. Eva-Sharon Kobee Book Talk will be
August 11th at 6 p.m. to talk about her book and upcoming bus trip to
French Lick. August 22nd is Adult Tye Dye at 6 p.m. Call 419-258-2855 to
register. Every Friday is Craft Friday in August anytime during Library
hours, 10-5 p.m.
The Grover Hill branch will be having their
Summer Reading Party on Thursday, August 4 at 4. Awards, prizes, games,
crafts, treats and homemade Lions Club ice cream for all who
participated this summer. Munchkin Club story time is every other Monday
at 10:30 a.m. on August 15 and 24. The Book Club is Wednesday, August
24 at 4 p.m. The club is reading “The Record Keeper” by Charles Martin.
This is book 3 and the conclusion of gripping story with remarkable
characters. Fridays are free make/take activities and more. The monthly
drawing for free books, movies and goodies will start August 1 and run
through the 31st. The branch is planning on a 2-year celebration in
September.
The Payne Branch is offering for the month of August,
Story time on Tuesdays for all ages at 11, Diamond Dots for Adults on
Wednesday at 12:30 p.m., Diamond Dots for Teens on Thursdays all day
Movie Buckets on Friday when you check out 3 or more movies. Join the
Payne branch on Monday, August 16th at 6 p.m. for a free education
program with essential oils class titled “Sleep and Stress”. We will be
making roller bottles to take home. Registration is preferred. Call

The Friends of the Paulding County
Carnegie Library will meet Monday, August 8 at 6 p.m. in the south wing
of the Main Library. Membership is $5 through December 31, 2022. Ask us
how to opt to work volunteer hours at the Buy the Book store in lieu of
annual membership dues. Bookstore hours are 9-Noon on Saturday and
3:30-6:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
Black Swamp Bookworms will meet
immediately following the Friends’ meeting Monday August 8 at 6:30 p.m.
in the Annex or outside if its nice. Bring a lawn chair if you like. We
are reading “The Diamond Eye” by Kate Quinn. Call 399-2032 to reserve
your copy soon. Everyone is welcome to join us.
