OAKWOOD – An Oakwood man was arrested early Saturday in connection with the shooting death of his brother southwest of Oakwood.

Dead is Anthony J. Richcreek, 28.

Sheriff Jason Landers said that at 2:48 a.m. Aug. 10, deputies were dispatched to 7598 Road 187, Oakwood, for a man who had been shot as a result of a drive-by shooting.

Early in the investigation, investigators learned there was no drive-by shooting. Deputies allege 26-year-old Donald Joseph Richcreek shot his brother, Anthony, in the chest.

Both men lived at the Road 187 address.

Anthony J. Richcreek was transported to the Paulding County Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Donald J. Richcreek was arrested at the scene and booked at the Paulding County Jail on one count of murder, an unclassified felony.

He appeared via video for arraignment in Paulding County Court on Monday morning, Aug. 12. Bond was set at $10 million with 10 percent cash privilege.

Sheriff Landers said the investigation is ongoing and is “not going to release any more specifics of the case at this time.”
