April
showers bring May flowers! There is a lot blooming at the library this
month. The library will close at noon on Friday, April 7 for Good
Friday. National Library Week is April 23-29, stop by and celebrate your
library. National Library Workers Day is Tuesday, April 25, so give
your favorite library worker a smile. Earth Day is April 22. Check out

Main Branch
The
Main Branch has Coffee Talk every Thursday at 1 p.m. You don’t want to
miss it. Dot Painting with Carol Blodgett is on April 11, at 1 p.m. and 6
p.m. Call 419-399-2032 to sign up. All materials will be provided.
Cookbook Club is Monday, April 17, at 5:30 p.m. This month is KABOBS.
Any food on a stick. There will be activities, snacks and drawings for
prizes every day from April 24 to 28, in honor of National Library Week.

The Children’s Room has story time
every Wednesday at 11 a.m. and 1:30 p.m. There is a different theme
every week. Join us for a fun time. April is National Poetry and Humor
month, check out some of our poetry and joke books. Stop by for Earth
Day and make a craft. The Battle of Books final will be on April 28.

Antwerp
The
Antwerp branch will be having Book Club on Monday, April 10, at 6 p.m.
Cookbook Club is Monday, April 17, at 5:45 p.m. Storytimes are every
Wednesday at 11 a.m. There is an All Ages Craft of the Month. Just stop
in anytime during library hours.
Grover Hill
The
Grover Hill branch would like to dig into reading all April. Munchkin
Club story times will be Monday, April 10 with “Nosey Nosey Digger” and
Monday, April 24th with “Dirty Gert.” Both storytimes are at 10:30 a.m.
Storytime includes a coordinating activity and a treat for ages 6 and
under. Seniors, aged 50+, can register for Spring Garden-themed Bingo
and light lunch on the second Thursday of the month, April 13, from 10
a.m. - noon. Nicole Suvar, author of the book “Numbering Our
Days-Combating Anxiety in the Power of Small Intentional Moments” will
be available at the Grover Hill branch location on Saturday, April 15,
from 10 a.m. - noon for signing and discussion. Book Club meets on
Wednesday, April 26, at 4 p.m. for a discussion of the novel “The First
Gardener” by Denise Hildreth Jones. April concludes with the drawing of
the monthly basket on April 29. Entries of all ages can be submitted
once daily for every visit throughout the month of April.
Oakwood
The
Oakwood branch has things hopping. Kids stop by the week of April 3rd
for a special Easter treat. Monday ,April 3, 4-5:30 p.m., adults can
make a bunny sign to decorate their home. Registration is required.
Tuesday, April 4, 11 a.m. - noon is the Good Morning book club. April
11, the homeschool club will meet from 1-3 p.m. Tired of being home with
nothing to do? Join us monthly as we sit around the fireplace, chat and
sip tea or hot cocoa. Adults can enjoy a visit with other patrons
during our Coffee Talk, on April 12, from 1-2 p.m. Senior Bingo with the
Meadows of Kalida will take place on April 13th at 11:30. Come in have
lunch and play bingo. Mark your calendar: Senior Bingo is the second
Tuesday of each month. There is food, friends and prizes.
Tired of
grocery store prices? Ready to stock your home with alternatives to
store-bought items used every day? We will be having monthly classes on
how to fill your home with homemade items. In each class, we will make
an item with homemade items. April 13, from 5-6 p.m., we will be making
beeswax wraps. They can be used in place of plastic wraps or baggies. On
Saturday, April 15, 11 a.m. - 1 p.m., bring your kids in and learn fun
ways to decorate cookies. Sign-up is required, and adults must be
present. The activity is open to ages 7 and up. On Thursday, April 20,
5-6 p.m., there will be a teen cake decorating class for ages 13-18.
Saturday, April 22, 11 a.m. - noon, students aged 8-18 can come in and
create their own lip balms; sign-up is required.
The Quilt Block
of the Month is April 25, 1-3 p.m. Have you ever wanted to make a quilt
but felt intimidated? Each month we will be making a new 12-inch quilt
block, with step-by-step instructions. Just bring in 3 coordinating
fabrics, ¼ yard of each. We will complete one block from start to
finish. Be sure to look at our calendar.
Payne
The
Payne branch will be having Easter Peeps Canvas Paint on Monday, April 3
at 3:30 p.m. Sign-up is required. A Cricut Flower making class is on
Thursday, April 6, at 1 p.m. Another Cricut class will focus on making a
DIY canvas bag. It will take place on Thursday, April 13, at 1 p.m.
Bring your own bag. Essential Oils Class 101 will be Monday, April 10,
at 6 p.m. We will be making sugar scrubs. Sign-up is required, and there
is a minimum fee for materials. A Kids Bird Feeder Class is scheduled
for Monday, April 24, at 3:30 p.m. Sign-up is required. Storytime takes
place every Tuesday at 11 a.m. Join us for Coffee Talk each Wednesday at
1 p.m.
Friends of the Library
Friends of
the Paulding County Carnegie Library will meet Monday, April 10, at 6
p.m. in the south wing of the Main Branch. Everyone is welcome to join.
Membership dues are $10 per year, or consider volunteering at the Buy
the Book used bookstore in lieu of dues. Volunteers are also available
for community service credit. Book store hours are Wednesdays, 3:30 -
6:30 p.m. and Saturdays, 9 - noon.
Black Swamp Bookworms
Black
Swamp Bookworms will meet Monday, April 10 from 6:30 - 8 p.m. in the
library’s south wing immediately following the Friends’ meeting. We are
reading “The Women of Easter” by Liz Curtis Higgs. Call 419-399-2032 to
