On Oct. 27 The Union Bank Co. hosted a ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening of the new branch in Paulding. 

The celebration comes a week after they opened their doors. 

Stacy Cox, the Chief Financial Officer for The Union Bank, enthusiastically greeted everyone that attended. She shared that thus far Paulding has been incredibly friendly and welcoming to her and her staff so much so that they have received a bouquet of flowers and a food basket upon opening the doors. 

Cox stated that she was “surprised to receive such gifts. Its definitely not something you see often when you are a business owner.”

Tim Copsey, director of Paulding Economic and Development, Inc.; Paulding Village Mayor Greg White and Lora Lyons, Paulding County Chamber of Commerce board member also attended the ceremony.

After the ceremony there was a brief period for a press conference. During that time  a few people to the time to speak. 

Cox spoke stated that with the help of Copsey The Union Bank Co. was able to expand its business to Paulding County and open its doors in downtown Paulding. Copsey stated, “[I was] approached by The Union Bank Co. about a building in Paulding County to open a branch. We worked with the Small Business Innovation Center -this incubator - for projects just like this.” The Union Bank Co. is presently in the Small Business Innovation Center’s office until the permanent location is open.

Cox added, “Tim listened to our needs and helped us every step of the way. [Our] temporary location is on the square; the permanent location will be on the square as well.”

Mayor White expressed his enthusiasm for the branch opening by stating, “ [we] look forward to working you. Thank you very much for coming; its a great addition to the village.”

Abby Hornish the branch. manager speaking on behalf of the staff, “we are excited to continue to serve customers here in the community - Wendy, Leslie, Stacey and I are excited to be part of the The Union Bank Co. team.”
