PAULDING COUNTY – P.A.S.S., Prevention Awareness Support Services, out of Lima is pleased to announce the expansion of their services into Paulding and Van Wert Counties.

P.A.S.S. is a non-profit that services Allen, Auglaize, Hardin and Union Counties with education, programming and resource referral to critical issues. They support evidence-based programs in each of the prevention focus areas of child abuse, alcohol and other drugs, mental illness, suicide and problem gambling.

In Paulding and Van Wert counties, they are now providing evidence-based prevention programs for the schools. They offer curriculum focusing on suicide prevention, alcohol and drug use, vaping and making responsible choices. Programs are available for third grade through high school. All programs are provided at no charge to the school through grant funding from the Tri-County ADAMHS Board.

“I am thrilled that P.A.S.S. is expanding services to offer prevention programming to Van Wert and Paulding County school districts,” says Lucy Flowers, Director of school-based programming with P.A.S.S. “I am honored to partner with the Tri-County ADAMHS Board to serve their youth.”

In addition to school-based programming, they will be offering a Summer Career Pathways Program for students entering grades 9 through 12. Students must attend school in Paulding, Van Wert or Mercer Counties to participate. Students will explore career options in the mental health and social work fields and can earn a total $380 for attending the program.

There will be college visits, service projects, fun and games, and speakers from a variety of mental/behavioral health agencies and professions.

The program will run July 6 – Aug. 5, Monday – Thursday, from 9 a.m. – noon. It will be held in Van Wert in the Tri-County ADAMHS building.
