JUNCTION – A court hearing has been postponed for a Paulding County man accused of fatally shooting his grandson last week.

William R. Miller II, 73, is charged with murder, an unclassified felony, in connection with the death of Evan Andrew Holcombe, 19.

On Thursday, May 10, sheriff’s deputies were called to Miller’s home on Road 1037 in the Five Span area at 9:38 p.m.

When deputies arrived, they found Holcombe deceased with a gunshot wound to the chest, according to Sheriff Jason Landers.

Holcombe and Miller both resided in the home on Road 1037. The victim reportedly was a graduate of Defiance High School.

No motive has been suggested for the incident.

Miller was arrested at the scene and booked into the Paulding County Jail.

    Miller had been scheduled for a preliminary hearing on Monday, May 14 in Paulding County Court. Miller has been sent to Northwest Ohio Psychiatric Hospital for evaluation and the hearing was postponed.
