    On August 4, at approximately 6:28 P.M., Troopers from the Van Wert Post responded to an injury crash at the intersection of US 127 and Township Road 72 in Latty Township, in Paulding County.

    Paulding County Commissioner Mark Holtsberry (right), was instrumental in issuing a proclamation celebrating women’s suffrage in Paulding County. Women in our country, state, and county fought hard for the right to vote just a mere 100 years ago. It’s important to remember the history of our county and the rights we have fought hard for.     I recently had the pleasure of riding around with Shannon Ruschel, WMEA program director for Paulding County.

    Ruschel has been doing this job for about seven months. She replaced Becky Suvar, who retired after serving the county for 27 years.

    During the week, Ruschel loads up in her big red van to pick up recycling around Paulding County.

    PAULDING – Higher water and sewer fees will go into effect for utility customers Sept. 1.

    At the Aug. 3 Paulding Village Council meeting, the third and final readings were heard for Ordinance 1584-20 to increase the the monthly fee for village water users for payment of debt service, and for Ordinance 1585-20 to increase the monthly fee for village sewer users for payment of debt service expenses.

    COLUMBUS—In a statewide address from his office in the Statehouse tonight Governor DeWine said that the state is at a critical point in the COVID-19 pandemic and implored Ohioans to take appropriate action to reverse the rapidly increasing spread of the virus.

  • LaFountain Park gets much needed attention

    PAULDING – In 2001, a committee raised money to construct a new playground in LaFountain Park in Paulding.

    They raised $80,000 in a mere six months and hundreds of people came together to build the park in less than a week.
