    COLUMBUS – Paulding County saw a quartet of local athletes bring home a state title on Saturday as Wayne Trace juniors Sydnee Sinn, Kiara Bahena and Gracie Shepherd as well as senior Rachel Stoller all came home as State Champions from the Division III state track meet.

    The Wayne Trace softball team gave Hilltop all it wanted Wednesday afternoon in Division IV Regional action at Joe Wilson Field in Clyde. However, the Lady Cadets scored a pair of unearned runs and held off the Lady Raiders to post a 4-3 victory and advance to Friday’s regional championship against Lincolnview.

Hometown Heroes Banners honor local veterans

    Late last summer, Jon Snodgrass was hanging out at the Paulding VFW Post #587 with Karen and Matt Sunday, when the seed of an idea to honor local veterans was planted. That initial seed of an idea would bear fruit this past week around Paulding with the hanging of Paulding Hometown Heroes banners throughout the village this past Friday.

    ANTWERP - Antwerp was two outs away from the end of the season.

    But Reid Lichty kept the Archers postseason dreams alive with a two-run single in the bottom of the seventh inning, giving Antwerp a 2-1 victory over Hicksville in Division IV sectional championship action on Thursday.

Lady Raiders move on to district final

Showalter records 100th victory for Raiders

    HAVILAND – Wayne Trace head coach Amber Showalter recorded the 100th victory of her career Thursday night in Division IV girls sectional softball action as the Lady Raiders routed visiting Cory Rawson 20-1 in five innings.

    The win improves Showalter to 100-64 for her seven-year career at the home of the Raiders.
