ANTWERP– On Monday, Dec. 2, the Hicksville Police Department and Antwerp Police Department conducted a joint investigation into a break-in that occured on Nov. 14 at the Sunoco G-Mart in Antwerp.

As a result of the investigation, Antwerp Police Department has charged James Prescott, age 24 of Hicksville with receiving stolen property, a fifth degree felony.

Prescott was arrested by the Defiance County Sheriff’s Office.

As a result of the arrest, a search warrant was executed at his residence in Hicksville. During the search, several drug related items and several items related to the break-in were located in his residence.

Additional items related to some thefts in Hicksville were also recovered at the residence.

The joint investigation has revealed multiple suspects involved in the area thefts and all reports will be forwarded to the Defiance County Prosecutors Office and the Paulding County Prosecutors office for review of charges to be presented to the Grand Jury.

Prescott is being held in the Paulding County Jail.
