Criminal Docket

Mindy L. Contrarez, 43, Van Wert, was in court on a motion to revoke community control sanctions. She admitted to the violations and waived the right to counsel. The sanctions were ordered to continue with the conditions of serving 30 days in our local jail facility. The days were suspended though as long as Contrarez remains employed and the child support payments are being made. She was also ordered to seek and maintain employment; make all child support payments and obtain a valid operator’s license. Contrarez was previously found guilty of non support of dependents (F5).

Tristen Blair, 21, Grover Hill, was in court for sentencing on a charge of burglary (F2). He was sentenced to seven years in prison and ordered to pay restitution to the victim.

Logan C. Perl, 25, Paulding County Jail, was in court on a motion to revoke community control sanctions. Counsel was appointed and another hearing was set for Feb. 1. Perl previously pleaded guilty to theft (F4) and breaking and entering (F5).

John L. Phillips, 48, Antwerp, was in court for sentencing on charges of possession of methamphetamine (F5) and burglary (F2). He was sentenced to 11 months in prison for the drug charge and two years in prison for the burglary charge. The sentences are to run concurrently for a total of two years in prison.

Rick A. Zuver, 44, Defiance, pleaded guilty to possession of cocaine (F5). A disposition hearing for intervention in lieu of conviction was set for March 11.

Niccole M. Zuver, 40, Defiance, pleaded guilty to possession of methamphetamine (F5) and was sentenced to four years of community control sanctions with the following guidelines: serve 20 days in jail with credit for 20 days served; abstain from drug and alcohol consumption; submit to random substance testing; and obtain and maintain employment.

Joshua A. Mormon, 48, Lima, was arraigned on a charge of possession of methamphetamine (F5). Counsel was appointed and another hearing was set for Feb. 25.

Johnathon R. Foster, 24, Defiance, pleaded guilty to aggravated assault (F4). Sentencing is scheduled for Feb. 25.

Katilin E. Schafer, 28, Defiance, was arraigned on a charge of possession of drugs (F5). Counsel was appointed and a hearing was set for Feb. 25.

Christopher L. Phillips, 34, Fort Wayne, was arraigned in court on a charge of grand theft (F4). Counsel was appointed and a hearing was set for Feb. 25.

Joseph L. Guyton, 38, Melrose, was arraigned on a charge of possession of methamphetamine (F5). Counsel was appointed and another hearing was set for Feb. 25.

Tristen Blair, 21, Grover Hill, pleaded no contest to reckless homicide (F3) and was sentenced to 36 months in prison. This sentence is to run consecutively with the theft charge.
