Fountain Park in Van Wert will set the stage for Elvis impersonator Ben Portsmouth. The concert, scheduled for Aug. 15, will feature what many consider the greatest impersonator of all time.
VAN WERT – In remembrance of Elvis Presley, who died on Aug. 16, 1977, a 38th anniversary concert will be given in Van Wert on Saturday, Aug. 15 at Fountain Park.

Billed as the greatest Elvis impersonator of all time, Ben Portsmouth will perform with a nine-piece band.

Fans from all over the world declare he is the closest they have ever seen to Elvis Presley. Although there was only one Elvis, Ben is the closest you will ever get in terms of Elvis’s looks, his singing voice and onstage charisma, according to those who have seen him in person.

He has won three major Elvis Presley Enterprise endorsed contests, culminating in the crown jewel of contests the “Ultimate Elvis Tribute Contest” held in Memphis during Elvis week, commemorating the life and legend of Elvis Presley.

In February 2013, Ben performed on the “David Letterman Show” in celebration of the King’s 79th birthday.

Bring your own seating (lawn chairs) to the event. The park will open at noon on the 15th and lawn chairs may be placed on a first-come, first-served basis. No coolers are permitted at this event. Food and drinks will be sold.

This will be the first ticketed event in Fountain Park history. The concert area will be entirely encased in privacy screen. You must have a ticket to enter. All proceeds will be donated to the Children’s Christmas Garden project.
