State Bank in Oakwood was robbed early Wednesday, Sept. 11 in the morning. 

According to the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, a man entered the State Bank in Oakwood around 9:12 a.m., wearing a mask, baseball hat, black gloves and hoodie, carrying a blue bag and demanding money. The amount stolen is not known at this time. 

At the time of the robbery, no customers were inside the bank. Neither of the two bank tellers working were harmed during the incident. 

It is not clear if the suspect was armed during the attempt. 

According to the Paulding Sheriff’s Office, the suspect may have fled in a white 2000’s Chevrolet cargo van, which may have had Indiana plates.

“My investigators are following some leads right now.  They are working with multiple agencies.  I am glad no one was hurt as a result of this senseless crime,” Sheriff Jason K. Landers said in a press release. “If any has information related to this crime, please call us.”

The Paulding County Sheriff’s Office is working with the Oakwood Police Department and the FBI to resolve the case.
