Sports Roundup Saturday Feb. 2 Girls Basketball -Continental 48 Paulding 30. Continental outscored Paulding 28-10 in the second half to coast to a 48-30 win. Abbey Edwards scored nine points for the Panthers. Miler City 60 Wayne Trace 53. On Saturday, Wayne Trace dropped a non-league decision to Miller City as the Wildcats recorded a 60-53 victory at the ‘Palace.’ Erin Mohr bucketed 17 points to pace the Lady Raiders.
Boys Basketball-Antwerp 60 Montpelier 33. There is no better medicine following a Friday night disappointing loss than to come back and play on Saturday night. Back on the road, the Archers did just that as they traveled to Montpelier where they steam rolled the Locomotives, 60-33. Leading the scoring attack for the blue and white was Noah Ganger with 16 points. Wayne Trace 47 Kalida 44. At Kalida, Corbin Linder scored 15 points while Dalton Sinn added a dozen and Ryan Kortokrax chipped in 10 as the Raiders held on for a 47-44 win over the Wildcats. Wrestling -Antwerp and Wayne Trace at GMC Meet: The Raiders crowned four champions but were edged by Ayersville to finish in second place overall. Team scores: 1. Ayersville 199; 2. Paulding at NWC Meet: Paulding won a very closely contested NWC Wrestling title this afternoon at the 2013 Northwest Conference Tounrament hosted by Lima Central Catholic. The Panthers edged Spencerville by just two points. Paulding coach Josh Neilson was voted by his peers as NWC Coach of the Year. Team scores: 1. Paulding 256; 2. Spencerville 254; 3. LCC 225; 4. Columbus Grove 199.5; 5. Delphos Jefferson 197; 6. Bluffton 174; 7. Allen East 147; 8. Lincolnview 124; 9 Ada 116.5
