Part 2 of 2 A continuation of the recap of 2012 local news stories as reported by the Progress: JULY Nearly all of Paulding County was left without power in the aftermath of a catastrophic storm that raked much of the Midwest in June. Winds reached more than 80 mph and at least one funnel cloud was reported. No injuries occurred. Scattered structural damage has been reported. Paulding County, as well as Ohio, is under a state of emergency. High temperatures are compounding the problem. Heat indices of 105° to 115° are forecast for each afternoon. State Wildlife Officer Michael Ohlrich as been assigned to Paulidng County. His assignment follows the retirement of former Wildlife Officer Duane Bailey.
