Speice, Showalter named Players of the Year

In voting by coaches and media from Paulding County, Wayne Trace’s Colby Speice and Tyler Showalter garnered Paulding County’s Offensive and Defensive Player of the Year honors on the Paulding County Progress 2012 All-County Football Team.

Colby Speice garnered the Offensive Player of the Year award after setting new school season records for completions, touchdown passes, passing yards and passer efficiency rating in 2012.

Speice, a 6-3 junior, finished the year 184 of 311 through the air for 3,156 yards, including 48 touchdowns. He also posted a passer efficiency rating of 186.98.
