OAKWOOD – A Continental woman was seriously injured in a one-vehicle crash southeast of Oakwood early today.
The Van Wert Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating the incident, which occurred at about 3:53 a.m. Feb. 17 on County Road 263 just south of Ohio 613.
Troopers were advised of an overturned vehicle in a ditch on County Road 263. Once on scene, Oakwood Fire and EMS, Paulding Sheriff’s deputies, and troopers located the 2014 Kia with the driver still trapped inside.
Through the initial investigation, it was found that the driver, Angela Dockery, age 39, of Continental, was northbound on Road 263 and drove off of the left side of the road. While entering the ditch, the Kia flipped onto its side where it came to final rest.
Dockery was transported by Life Flight to St. Rita’s Hospital in Lima for serious but non-life threatening injuries.
Troopers said the driver was not wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash. Alcohol and drug impairment is unknown at this time. The crash remains under investigation.
The Van Wert Post was assisted by the Paulding County Sheriff’s Office, Oakwood Fire and EMS, Life Flight, and Meyer’s Towing.
