PAULDING – Photography will be the featured medium at this year’s John Paulding Historical Society’s annual Celebration of Arts & Artists exhibit.
All former and current residents of Paulding County are invited to submit photos for the display, which will run from May 13 through June. In honor of the museum’s 40th anniversary, all photos must have been taken within the past 40 years.
Any photographer from the county, amateur or professional, may submit up to three photos of any subject. The photographer’s name and contact information must be on the back of the photo. All photos must be the artist’s own work and must originate in a camera. Both color and black-and-white photos will be accepted for the display.
The Arts & Artists committee requests that all photos be in a wood, plastic or metal frame with a sturdy wire hanger securely attached to the frame. Conventional frames (enclosed on all four sides) are mandatory. Finished canvas wrapped frames will be accepted. The minimum visible print size is 8-by-10 inches and the maximum print size is 11-by-14 inches.
There will be a private viewing and reception for the artists and their family members on Friday, May 12 from 6:30-8 p.m.
The grand opening of the event will take place on Saturday, May 13 at the museum from 10 a.m.-3 p.m. The public is invited to visit the display and tour the museum on that date.
Deadline for submission of photos is Tuesday, May 9. For more information, contact the museum at 419-399-8218 any Tuesday from 10 a.m.-4 p.m. or by email at JPHS45879@yahoo.com.
